I got my notice back from Medicare and
it shows you billed for 300, but I only got two boxes of
medicine with 120 doses.
WHY DID YOU BILL FOR MORE THAN I RECEIVED?
We didn't, and this can be confusing.
Medicare requires we bill for the actual amount of medicine in
each dose, measured in milligrams. If you are using Albuterol,
for example, there are 2 ½ milligrams of medicine in each vial.
For Medicare we must bill the number of doses (120) times the
milligrams of medicine in each dose (2.5) and that equals
300.
Why? Doctors can prescribe more or less medicine in each dose.
This is how Medicare accounts for paying for the exact amount of
medicine.
